From TowTimes.com - Balancing Act

Recommended Posts

From Geri Roskopf's Blog:

I read an article titled “Balancing Act,” which referenced the economic growth in a neighboring county where the goal is to mix new development with the county’s history and agriculture. It’s like a balancing act of having fast-paced growth while not losing what attracted people to the area in the first place.

When I saw the article’s title I thought of acrobats, jugglers, tightrope walkers and gymnasts who are all proficient at doing balancing acts as they perform. I also thought of what I do every day at my tow company. I certainly do a balancing act managing employees, customers, vendors, dispatching, book work, family life, etc. Like a juggler, I’m trying to keep everything going and not drop any  jobs.

Right now my balancing act is to keep all aspects of my life balanced – mind, body and spirit. With all that’s going on, I sometimes think I’m ready for the looney bin. The human mind, while resilient, can only understand so much. When reason falters and emotions take over we are all at risk. We struggle to know what to do, what to say, and even how to act.

No matter how hard we try to keep our lives in balance, and we feel like we are going to fail, we need to keep reminding ourselves that we have what it takes to find that balance. We’ve all have faced many challenging balancing acts in our lives, such as health issues and even death.  Life can seem difficult and painful, but those realities have actually equipped us for today.

So put on your best costume, turn on the bright lights, take a deep breath, smile, and get ready to perform the best balancing act of your life. You can do this.
