Platinum Sponsor BigWheelArchives Posted February 4, 2018 Platinum Sponsor Share Posted February 4, 2018 10-1-03 Received a call from New Bedford Police for us to respond immediately to Kempton & Cottage Street for a serious accident. They stated that a tow truck heading down Kempton Street struck a large 24' box truck with a partial load in it broadside and the box truck was up in the air on top of the tow truck as well as another vehicle causing injuries to the drivers. The truck was leaking diesel fuel down the street and into the drains. We responded with our 60 ton rotator and 2 heavy duty ramp trucks. One ramp truck was used to winch the wrecker and the car and the other was used to carry pumps and drums to transfer the remaining fuel, and speedy dry. We set up the crane and lifted the box truck off the tow truck and winched the tow truck back out of the way. then we swung the box truck around away from the car it landed on and set it down in the street. We then secured the broken tanks and towed the truck to our shop.
