Vintage Wrecks

Here is one from the 50's.

Couple of  58 Chevys

the story is .....they were driven by two young Navy sailors from the nearby base. They decided to drag race and took them out to a country road (at the time; now it is a major road leading to a regional airport). Apparently, being from out of state, they did not know the road ended abruptly at a three way intersection and when they got there, the cars got tangled up and went several hundred feet into the farm field.

What does a waterlogged 51 Mercury weigh?

Here are two fatals. The first one hit a semi headon...second is obviously a rollover.

Here's one of those oldie B Macks we hauled in when I was a teenager. (1973)

Here are a few more pretty old photos.... These were all fatal accidents... The pictures of the tractor that was rolled was a tractor & trailer... The unit had already been split and the trailer removed... Thanks.. be safe & stay well.... Steve

The truck in those pictures was a 1952 Chevy.. Inline six cylinder.. 4 speed 2 speed rear...8 25 x 20 rubber.. The back is a home built wrecker, copied from an Ashton body... Thanks... Steve

Wreck pictures 1930s to 1959s from my scrapbooks

Two brand new 1958 Chevys were drag racing and the road ended.

1950s truck rollover, one killed

No details, early '40s. My great grandpa in picture.

1935 view of the yard.

Rollover, four killed in 1939.

Chrysler hit bridge, 1949. Seven killed. Here's a good example of wreckers dong extrication before the advent of fire departments.
