TowNews
A state trooper and a tow truck driver were hospitalized this morning after police said they were struck by a passing vehicle while helping a disabled motorist on Interstate 95 north in Wakefield. The crash occurred just after 6:10 a.m. north of Exit 40. Both are expected to survive. State police spokesman David Procopio said they were outside their own vehicles when they were hit. The vehicle that hit them then struck the tow truck, he said. Procopio said the trooper was able to call in the crash on his radio and report that he and the tow driver needed medical assistance. No charges were immediately pending. ‘The facts and circumstances of the crash are under investigation, including whether road or weather conditions were factors,” Procopio said. “No charges have been filed at this point.” RESOURCE LINK
