CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Police have identified the person who was killed after a car and a tow truck collided in northwest Charlotte overnight.

 

The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday on Brookshire Boulevard near Interstate 85.

 

The driver of a 2008 Infiniti EX35, Samantha Lasha Brayboy, 33, was pronounced dead on the scene by Medic, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

 

Video from the crash site showed the car’s driver side collided with the passenger side of the tow truck. The vehicles came to a stop still resting against one another.

 

Investigators said Brayboy was heading southeast on Brookshire Boulevard at a high rate of speed when the driver’s side of her Infiniti struck the tow truck.

 

The truck driver was not injured in the crash, according to the CMPD.
