FOX45 has learned about several tow trucks being stolen, both in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, but in the same general area.

Monday night, ring camera footage shows two suspects getting out of a black car at an auto repair shop in the 4500 block of Southwestern Boulevard.

They can be seen entering a tow truck and audio captures them hotwiring it before driving off.

FOX45 spoke with the owner, Mardo Alfaro, Wednesday morning after his tow truck was recovered.

“When you see, you know what you working hard for and somebody just come and take it, it’s really, really bad," said Alfaro.

It was dumped in Southwest Baltimore, and found with the steering column punched.

Mardo Alfaro was notified about the location of his tow truck, by another tow truck driver, Will Purkey.

Purkey was taking his children to school when he spotted the stolen tow truck.

Purkey was also on the way to his lot, because he received a call of his own, around 6 O'clock Wednesday morning.

“What do you mean? He was like you might want to get down here," said Purkey.

Purkey's tow truck was also stolen from his lot on Wilkens Avenue in Baltimore City.

However, the suspects did not make it far, after crashing the tow truck through the lots fence.

“There’s two other tow trucks around the corner stolen. There’s a couple of them a couple of weeks ago stolen," said Purkey.

Purkey says he has heard from others about what the trucks could be used for.

Other people said they’re using them to steal more cars.”
