1 woman dead, kid in hospital after a crash in Middletown

 

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — One woman is dead and a three-year-old was taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a tow truck Monday night in Middletown.

 

According to police, a black Sedan was traveling north on South Main Street when it hit the rear of a tow truck also traveling north.

 

Officers found a three-year-old child in the back of the Sedan and a woman trapped in the driver’s seat. Police determined that the child had no injuries but the woman was unresponsive.

 

Police said the woman was pronounced dead on scene. The child was transported to Connecticut Children’s in Hartford for further evaluation.

 

According to police, the tow truck driver was not injured during the crash. Police are still investigating this crash and South Main Street remains closed in the area of Round Hill Road.
