In regards to the questions commented about the safety of our driver. Though this is unfortunate situation, our drivers' safety is our main concern. I would like to personally respond by stating that our driver is okay and safe. Thank you to everyone who asked about our driver. But this is another reminder of the dangers that our operators face on a daily basis. So please, be mindful and slow down or move over to prevent these types of accidents

 

Nelson County Sheriff's Office, KY

 

Sunday, November 5th, 2023 at approximately 0139 hours, Nelson County Dispatch advised Deputies Quire, Beaty and McCubbin of a collision on the Bluegrass Parkways near the 35-36 mile marker involving a wrecker. Units arrived on scene and located a wrecker with Ellis Towing was struck while loading a vehicle by a 2012 Honda passenger vehicle. During the course of the investigation it was determined the operator of the Honda was intoxicated.

 

Logan Bechanan, 23 years old of Carlisle, KY was transported to Nelson County Corrections and charged with Failure of Non-Owner to Maintain Insurance 1st, DUI 1st and Wanton Endangerment.

 

This is the 2nd wrecker struck by a vehicle on the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County in the past 7 months.
