Motorcyclist dies in crash on US 20 in Chesterton Sunday

 

 

CHESTERTON — A motorcyclist has succumbed to his injuries after hitting the back of a tow truck on Sunday evening, according to Porter County sheriff's department Sgt. Benjamin McFalls.

 

At approximately 5:39 p.m., eyewitnesses reported a motorcycle was traveling westbound on US Highway 20 at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic McFalls said. While changing lanes in the area of Brummitt Road, he hit the back of a tow truck and was launched off of his motorcycle.

 

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but died from his injuries, McFalls said. 

 

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends," McFalls said on behalf of the Porter County Sheriff Department.
