TowForce
A Bakersfield motorist died Monday while driving a flatbed tow truck — on which sat a Mazda with passengers — after he sped and lost control of the truck in the Kern River Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol. A 68-year-old man headed south on Caliente Bodfish Road in a 2010 Kenworth tow truck and couldn't negotiate a roadway, a news release said. He lost control of the Kenworth, which then overturned, and the Mazda carrying passengers was thrown from the tow truck, CHP added. The motorist died at the scene while pinned inside his car, CHP reported. The three adult passengers were taken to Kern Medical with minor injuries. CHP reported drugs or alcohol didn't play a role in this incident. Officers went to the scene at 2:30 p.m. RESOURCE LINK
