FLORIDA'S 'MOVE OVER' LAW IS DESIGNED TO SAVE LIVES

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida’s ‘Move Over’ law is designed to save lives,

but sadly too many drivers ignore the law and put others at risk.

There are no excuses that warrant putting other’s lives at risk, especially when risking someone’s

life could easily be avoided by moving over or slowing down as Florida’s ‘Move Over’ law directs.

For the sake of our first responders, tow truck drivers, road rangers, sanitation trucks, and utility

workers, please “Move Over” and help save lives.

Florida law requires you to move over a lane when you can do so for stopped law enforcement,

emergency vehicles, sanitation trucks, utility service vehicles, and tow trucks or wreckers. If you

can’t move over or when on a two-lane road, slow to a speed that is 20 miles per hour less than

he posted limit speed.
