Just Curious , where there is smoke there is usually fire

Ok so I own a large towing company in Tennessee. Recently I have noticed that I keep having very nice cars in inventory for very long periods of time. I ask my paperwork employee and I always get told its out of state or something happpened had to be resubmitted which I understand. But these are all 50k plus cars that have been on my lot over 6 months.  How long does it usually take something from ky? tx? Michigan ? Mississippi? If I told you this list of cars you would fall out of your chair. Finally one was ready for the auction and a check showed up but nobody had been in the office all day. What could be going on?
