SHERMAN, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A man is hospitalized with serious injuries after a Freightliner crash Thursday morning.

Illinois State Police (ISP) says at approximately 5:45 a.m. a Freightliner tow truck crashed at milepost 106 on Interstate 55.

 

The 46-year-old driver from Michigan was traveling southbound on I-55 when the vehicle drove off the roadway into a ditch.

The driver tried to drive the vehicle out of the ditch, but as it was coming back onto the roadway it overturned.

 

The driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
