(7News) — A man was arrested after allegedly firing gunshots during a dispute with a tow truck driver late Saturday night in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Authorities announced Sunday that 29-year-old Kenard Hight, of Crofton, Maryland, was arrested for shooting in a public place and a gun was recovered in a ditch line next to his car. No one was injured in the shooting, according to investigators. Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the report of a shooting following a dispute with a tow truck driver in the area of Houser Drive and Courthouse Road. Deputies located the tow truck driver blocking Hight's vehicle from leaving the area. An initial investigation by authorities revealed that earlier Saturday evening the tow truck driver towed a car from another part of Spotsylvania County to meet the owner, later identified as Hight, at the impound lot to release the vehicle. According to the sheriff's office, after the car was released, an argument between Hight and the tow truck driver occurred and shots were fired in the area of the impound lot. The tow truck driver was able to use his tow truck to block Hight's car until deputies arrived. Authorities say Hight was taken into custody and is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond. RESOURCE LINK
