TowForce Posted April 10 Share Posted April 10 Tow truck driver allegedly stabbed by homeless man at stop light, suspect arrested SAN ANTONIO - A man is hospitalized after police say he was stabbed at a stop light by a homeless man on the North Side. The stabbing happened just before 12:20 a.m. Wednesday along Wurzbach Road near Interstate 10. Police said a tow truck driver was at the stop light when police said a homeless man came up to his truck. The driver rolled down the window and that's when the man stabbed him in the arm before running off. The driver drove to a nearby H-E-B and called for help. Police tracked down suspect, who pulled out a knife on police. Officers quickly tazed him and placed him under arrest. The investigation is ongoing. San Antonio Police responded to the 9900 block of Wurzbach Road near I-10 for reports of a cutting. According to police, a tow truck driver was stopped at a red light near the H-E-B when the suspect approached his vehicle, so he rolled down his window. Without warning the suspect reached inside the vehicle with a knife and stabbed the victim on the left arm. The victim quickly rolled up the window and the suspect struck the window with his knife. The victim was able to drive to the nearby store parking lot to call for help. He was taken to University Hospital to be treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the driver had a passenger with his that was training him on his new job. He was not injured. When police arrived, they said the suspect also came at them with the knife. The suspect was tazed and arrested at the scene. He was booked for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. This is a developing story.
