FleetNet America
Liftgates are considered a third door and can withstand a great deal of stress, however, over time with heavy use, they get damaged. The most common problem is failure to raise. The liftgate runs off a motor and most issues can be traced back to some aspect of the motor. If you can hear the motor running, but you are still getting nowhere, it is likely a battery issue. Using a booster is the quickest way to know if the battery is the culprit or not. If you are getting no power at all, you are likely dealing with a broken switch and/or wire.
