From a Tow411 post in August of 2017:

To be honest I was REALLY happy to finally see Agero loosing there contracts! They deserve to be wiped from the face of the earth!

They (honk) seemed "OK" in the beginning (a bit annoying) but job today paid today ...paid our rates .......ok!

Now we get this "we've made some adjustments" rates half & playing the circle call 10 calls for the same thing price shopping & offering less like we're bartering for rugs at a fle-market in Bangladesh! ......... They are becoming Agero! ......had a very long conversation with them yesterday and in the end fired them as well. ........any one else having same/similar?

Ive done a few jobs for them.... a real pain... a lot of pointless phone calls. Are you on your way?, are you there?, what truck are you using? is the job complete? what time did the job get done? All separate phone calls. I moved all of my rates up to the top, as high as it would let me go.... and the weird thing is, that week I got 3 calls. Made fair money for each, and when they called back with questions, I just hang up. They are annoying for sure. I don't see them lasting long unless they make some big changes. Until any of these clubs starts paying a fair rate, and weeding out the "bad" service providers, they are never going to get anywhere. But, I am very glad to see that Agero and Allstate both are losing big contracts.... It clearly shows that they arent doing a good job and the big companies are noticing and trying new guys. I wish more would switch to NSD since they are so great to work with.

I have handled some calls for them last year.  They were a pain in the ass.  Too many phone calls.  They were obviously price shopping, while their customer rotted by the side of the road.  I have been doing some Jack Rabbit calls this year.  They can also be a pain in the ass.  Again, too many phone calls to finally get the call.

Honk does not pay any in route miles. We signed up with them at our cash rates and never do any service calls that our over 5 miles from our shop. Average 3 to 4 calls a month at our rates.

I got my first call from them about a year ago. Customer on a remote rural road in the mountains, 2 flat tires, wanted to be towed to a gas station at a town 40 miles away. I quoted hourly rate for 3 hrs. They accepted my quote, then said they would pay by credit card when we called to notify call was completed.

Well calling back in gets an automated system stating that the maximum payout for this call is 1/3 of the quote. No way to access a live person. I had already unloaded the vehicle, ( my mistake) and the owner obviously was not going to pay the extra amount.

Long story short, I figured out how to get ahold of a real person the next day and threatened to file a complaint with our state insurance commissioner. They eventually paid in full.

Now when they call, I treat them the same as the other mc's and insist on credit card up front. In spite of what they try to say, they can do this.
