So the other day I get an email survey from what looks like HONK to inquire about them (HONK) getting into the primary accident scene towing and also the Secondary Tows (some with payouts) sector of the market.

The survey was thru SurveyMonkey.com, and it seemed to look straight forward, HOWEVER I did notice something particularly interesting in the actual email!

The email (supposedly from HONK) showed an AGERO email address! The email address was:-> vconnolly@agero.com via surveymonkey.com <<

Notice, right there it is, clear as day, that of an AGERO employee name and email address that points back to AGERO!!!!!!!!!

The email header also showed the email as having been generated by:-> lynda@honkforhelp.com via surveymonkey.com <<

So, this REALLY makes me wonder if there is something going on between Agero and HONK...maybe some type of partnership, or possible HONK is a sub-division/spin-off of Agero, where they are testing the waters of the APP market.

Regardless, there is clearly SOME type of connection between the two, otherwise there wouldn't be an AGERO email address in a email from HONK.

Does anyone recognize the person from Agero by their email address?? > vconnolly@agero.com <<

I'm curious to get others input and perspective on this and to let others be aware of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Desperate tactics, by two desperate organizations. Do not let them pass Go. They are just grasping at straws. We hold the cards!

Looks like someone screwed up mighty big. Haven't seen anything from them myself, but I've been workin with Honk for a few months now. I don't mind them as much as everyone else seems to. I take the easy jobs when they come and I ain't busy and drop the others. DodgeTowGuy, you think they're gettin into secondary towing now?

The email I received and the survey presented itself as being/representing HONK, so yes, it looks like they (HONK) are thinking about getting into the secondary tow market, possible from getting the calls from Agero, since it seems that Agero is having some issues handling the secondary tow calls for the insurance companies.

They are having issues with secondary tows because no one wants to do payouts and wait for the money

The insurance companies don't understand they need to leave the secondary accident tows with the DRP auto body shops like it used to be,They had no problems back the.Its just the bean counters wanted more control.

It sure looks like that is what is happening. If you read the recent Agero newsletter it even talks about them opening a call center in TN, I believe in the same city as HONK.

They caused a lot of problems under the name "Cross Country" and Agero hasn't been a perfect one either. Maybe they can get it together with HONK.

Seems like HONK is grasping at straws in an already saturated market. I believe their original plan was to market through Google, android and web, then profit by contracting with towing companies. Probably not working out for them.

Yeah, HONK was "supposed" to be an APP based service for the "on the go" generation that turns to an APP for everything to be able to get towing & roadside services, but it's my guess that it wasn't working out too well for them, so now they're handling other calls just to stay afloat.

soon their venture capital will dry up and then they will either just be a traditional motor club, or better yet, gone.

I'm starting to wonder if HONK is owned/as a "spin-off" division of Agero....That would explain a lot

I read an article today about another app called Openbay that is getting into roadside (they started with just car repairs, in the Boston area) and they are also using Agero to fill their tow calls.
