I guess he thought the tow bar would puncture the radiator. Try and claim that one through your insurance company. 🥵

That was just not cool at all. I hope that at least that was the owner of the recovery truck that made that horrible decision to put himself and his business in harm's way. What are you going to do if that is your only truck? Just what were you thinking?

Unbelievable.

All I can ask is WHY???? Why did you do that?? There is a reason the police are not right up on top of him and trying to ram him. This clown added to the mayhem and recklessness by driving the way he did to stay with the suspect and in the end all he ended up with is a tore up truck. I hope the police look back on this video and write all the traffic violation citations that you accumulated throughout your escapade to try to be a hero. Super dumb move.

There are Tow Truck Drivers, Then There is Towing and Recovery operators...... Which one are you??🤨

You know that had to be some "wild cowboy driver" cause no owner that has to pay for his trucks with sweat & blood would do that !!  🤠

This is not cool or heroic in any way! The tower that interfered with the police chase should be charged with obstruction or something similar. The only time I can condone this type of interference is when it is requested by law enforcement such as when they request tractor trailer drivers to block a highway to stop a suspect, and even then I have a hard time saying it is ok to place civilian vehicles in harms way.

This is a huge black eye for those of us in this industry trying to gain acceptance as professional. You don't see the fire department chasing down the ambulance, and it is one of their pieces of equipment. Further, the tower almost caused a major wreck at one of the intersections when he tried to stop the ambulance and caused them to barely miss a stopped vehicle. Thankfully the stopped vehicle was paying attention and moved to the side just in time to avoid being struck.

We are not equipped, trained or skilled in vehicle apprehension -leave that task to the professionals. They did not need to make a chase, the helicopter was tracking the ambulance and perhaps it even had a locating device for dispatch so it was really a simple matter of waiting for the suspect to stop and then apprehending them.

The new news video in headlines fills in the blanks and makes it clear from a tow company owners prospective. When we and/or our trucks are struck, our adrenaline kicks in and we respond on impulse. Absolutely, no way to truly explain our impulse actions or reactions. It's in our DNA and as rational as some of us think we are, let someone attack us.
