Illegally towed car leads Durham police to stolen luxury vehicles

An investigation into an illegally-towed car from a collision scene led police to a number of stolen vehicles at a Scarborough towing company.

 

Durham Regional Police were called after a citizen reported her car, which had been involved in a collision, was removed from the crash scene by a tow truck without her consent or permission.

 

Her car was transported to Kabi Auto at 124 Manville Rd. in Scarborough, in the Eglinton-Warden Aves. area, where staff refused to release the victim’s car.

 

When police attended the business to retrieve the car, one of the owners was arrested after refusing to release the vehicle to officers.
