TowBot Posted August 1, 2019 Share Posted August 1, 2019 Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed into law three enhancements to the state’s Move Over, or Scott’s Law, on July 30. According to a news story on ourquadcities.com, the first increases the first fine to $250 and $750 for additional violations, and increases violation penalties. If another vehicle is damaged the penalty is up to a year in prison. If someone is killed it could mean up to three years in prison and additional charges. The second will establish a Move Over Task Force to study violations and how to offer more responder protection. The third increases fines and penalties for work zone violations.
