Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed into law three enhancements to the state’s Move Over, or Scott’s Law, on July 30.

According to a news story on ourquadcities.com, the first increases the first fine to $250 and $750 for additional violations, and increases violation penalties. If another vehicle is damaged the penalty is up to a year in prison. If someone is killed it could mean up to three years in prison and additional charges.

The second will establish a Move Over Task Force to study violations and how to offer more responder protection.

The third increases fines and penalties for work zone violations.
