Fatal crash reported in Schuylkill County A portion of Route 61 remains closed as investigators look into the cause of the three-vehicle crash. At least one person was killed Monday night in a crash in Schuylkill County just north of the Berks County line, according to officials. Crews were dispatched at 7 p.m. to the intersection of Route 61 (Centre Turnpike) and Route 895 (Summer Valley Road) in Molino for the report of a vehicle accident with entrapment. Initial reports indicated at least three vehicles were involved in the crash, including a flat-bed tow truck that came to a stop on the concrete median. Officials from the Schuylkill County coroner's office were dispatched to the crash. The southbound lanes of Route 61 were closed while the northbound lanes remained open. rreschran Posted April 16, 2019 Share Posted April 16, 2019 There's speculation that the traffic signals at the intersection were not working at the time due to a power outage and the weather conditions. Note: The tow operator had a proper tie-down to the vehicle on his carrier's deck that stayed in-place after impact and its final resting place atop the K-Rail. R. Randall C.
