Platinum Sponsor BigWheelArchives Posted January 26, 2018 Platinum Sponsor Share Posted January 26, 2018 6-14-06 Received a call from MA State Police for us to respond immediately to the Rte. 105 ramp off Rte. 195 West for a loaded gravel TT-unit that rolled over blocking the entire ramp and spilling its load of contaminated dirt from Boston's big dig project. We responded with our two 60 ton rotators to lift the truck and trailer straight up and spin the unit over back onto its wheels. This is done after the trailer is completely off loaded of the remaining dirt. We used our Bobcat loader to dig out the trailer. By taking the weight out of the trailer we rolled the unit and kept the frame on the tractor and trailer straight, preventing a major repair expense. We also called in Frank Corp. Environmental service to haul away the diesel fuel contaminats. After the TT-unit was back on its wheels, we towed the unit to our Freetown location. Our crew then using our HD Volvo Front-End Loader re-loaded the 70,000 lbs of contaminated dirt. Our crew also hand shoveled and racked the dirt that went down the embankment and swept the entire area. The dirt had to remain in the rented truck until the State Police Truck team weighed the load. On day 2, the contaminated dirt was brought to its original destination, the Marion Landfill.
