Apparently a Chrysler pacifica blew a left rear tire causing the operator to lose control striking the TT unit. The truck then swerved into the center median down an embankment. The TT unit entered the swamp at a high rate of speed knocking down a large number of trees. It also caused the truck to jacknife, causing the driver to get ejected. Trees and stumps ripped open the 2 full diesel fuel tanks. The Fire Department used foam to cover the entire area to prevent a fire from the damaged batteries. The two feet of foam made it hard to determine where large rocks or stumps may be hiding. We used one heavy-duty wrecker to bring the cab forward, 60 ton rotator to lift the trailer off the ground at the same time. Once back on the highway, the tractor and trailer were separated and then the tractor was loaded onto our Landoll trailer, the trailer was towed back to our Freetown storage yard. Day two was the clean up day. We returned to the accident scene. All of the damaged stumps and trees had to be removed. The fuel and oil spill had to be cleaned up, along with the left over debris.
