TowZone Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 03-26-05: Curt Sharp Wrote, We spent some time today trying new methods with the 'Tator. Empty 45' trailer, Freightliner FLD with engine and drive-train still in. The rear outriggers did not sink at all...front outrigger on the load side sunk about 1 1/2 inches. This was all part of a test and learning experience. If I would have found out that I needed a larger pad to do a lift than we would have built lager pads. The exercise was not geared towards simply the weight, but also the size of lift I could perform. The trailer has set tandems... missing 4 tires and wheels...we hooked to the tractor frame just behind the cab, which explains the reason why we did not keep the tractor and trailer completely level with each other. The mud, I intentionally set up there to learn how the rotator would load on softer ground. It was fun and educational.
