American Towing & Recovery Institute press release:

ATRI has partnered with Statewide Towing Academy (STA) to bring an electric/alternative fuel vehicle program for towing operators to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

ATRI and STA announced on January 2 that the organizations have entered into a strategic partnership/licensing agreement that will allow the association to provide their members top-of-the-line industry training and bringing it to different parts of the state that will reduce training expenses for towing companies that participate.

The agreement brings together ATRI’s already established electric/alt-fuel vehicle program and STA’s strong support for their member companies, bringing the training to them.

“This relationship is not new,” said Wes Wilburn, President of ATRI. “It dates back to 2005 when we licensed our light/medium-duty program to STA and worked with their education committee during multiple courses and trained their trainers to deliver our program customized to their member’s needs. It’s been a great partnership and I’m excited that we’re going forward together on this project.”

“STA is excited to bring ATRI’s electric/alt-fuel vehicle program to train tow operators,” said Todd Chase, one of the lead instructors and board members at the STA. “This program will add knowledge and bring an additional level of safety for the tow operators that are clearing the roadways of the Commonwealth (of Massachusetts) and beyond. All the towers in the New England area that participate in these classes will benefit from having this type of training recurring regularly. We encourage everyone to attend, including towers from other states.”
