EdsTowing Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 This story starts about 2 years ago... I was heading home one night and sitting at the traffic lights when I see this old POS Motorhome just off the edge of the road in a yard. No plates, looks like a typical abandoned piece of junk. I called Eddie and told him if we get a call for it, don't bring it back to the shop. Well we didn't hear anything and in turn I have seen it sitting there every day for all these years.....Until yesterday @ 4:00 in the afternoon. Well by that time it worked it's way up from -2 degrees in the AM to a current 18 deg high...so what a great time to mess with a motorhome w/ no keys, pulled in and close to the busiest intersections on the mountain. Customer called and sold the property so it needed to be gone that day or they couldn't close. So we gave them a substantial number to remove & dispose of the truck which we got paid prior to rolling. Knowing it was pulled in and I had the heavy out already (we cranked all day towing froze up trucks), I figured it may be easier since I could grab something to rear tow it. I pulled enough driveshafts out that day already... 1st we grabbed the rear hitch and slid the coach sideways so I could back up, hook up and stay out of the road. Then we grabbed the frame up near the drive axle & headed out... Steering was locked with no keys so it was a little "sketchy" and dogged pretty hard but it was only 3/4 of a mile to the shop... Dropped at the shop where the guys will "process" it with the excavator in to a roll off can and scrap the remainder. 2 Quote
