Connecticut Tow Trucks Threaten Strike!

Recommended Posts

Is this what the police think of the Tow Truck Companies. Are they right, obviously they are aware the tow truck industry is not unified enough to pull off an all-out strike. In their view, there must be enough cracks to call upon to make a potential strike less effective.
Working without negotiations and revisions for nearly 10 years. Who has a contract that is more than 4 or 5 years?
Was this threat of strike valid?
Where is TRPC on this issue?

Colonel Loughman Issues Towing Statement Ahead of the Holiday Season
Statement of Colonel Daniel Loughman, Commanding Officer of the Connecticut State Police:
Tow companies and their operators are an essential partner to the Connecticut State Police in our continuous efforts to keep state roads safe 24 hours a day. We consistently rely on tow company operators to quickly and efficiently clear damaged or inoperable vehicles involved in traffic accidents from the highways.
We value our partnership with tow truck companies, as they are vital to keeping our highways safe, allowing lanes to be cleared and roads to be re-opened in a timely fashion. DESPP and the Division of State Police are eager to work with all of the stakeholders to resolve the issues raised and ensure fair and equitable solutions for all. The services provided by tow companies are crucial to our patrol Troopers and the safety of all motorists, and we are grateful to them.
We want to assure the motoring public that the Connecticut State Police has the resources needed to keep motorists safe this holiday season and beyond.

In Closing:
The last part tells me that this is not going to be resolved soon.

Pandora's Box has been opened, it isn't going to close easily!
Obviously, I do not know it all and I was advised to leave it alone. This would go away in it's own it time. Put it back in the Box!
Now, before this topic potentially heats up. Who can list the safety equipment that OSHA and your company know is necessary which is being denied in billing.

A Threat Without A Plan or Unity! I do not see that solidarity will every be achieved. I see us as Tow Truck Companies who come together when one of us lost their life. Once we leave it's back to being competitors, one day we will take a long hard look at ourselves in the rear view mirror and se clearly where things went wrong. One of the small things is the lack of response in this topic.
