dfrs
I was told once upon a time that in New York you need a towing endorsement, "W" on your license- My question is, if you live in NY and have a NY license, but work for a towing company in PA (light duty and light service under CDL weight) do you still need the endorsement? brian991219
Pennsylvania does not require any endorsement to tow, however if you were to tow back into New York from PA with your current license you would not be covered and be cited for not having the endorsement. You will need a DOT medical card in Pennsylvania to operate any truck with a GVWR greater of 17,000 pounds in intrastate operations and 10,000 if you do interstate work. The W endorsement in NY is only a short written test, so it is probably better to add it to your license rather than take any chances.
