Man dies after two-vehicle accident in Accomack County (VA)

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) -- A man has died after he was hit by a tow truck near Tasley on the Eastern Shore early Saturday morning. 

State police say just before 7 a.m., 38-year-old Vincent McCrane Barrett of Cheriton was driving and failed to stop at a stop sign as he was pulling out of Daugherty Road onto Route 13.

A tow truck was traveling northbound on Route 13 and was unable to stop when Barrett entered the road. The truck collided with Barrett's car, pushing it into the median, troopers say. 

 

Barrett was not wearing his seatbelt and was partially ejected from his vehicle, according to state police. He died at the scene. 

The driver of the tow truck had minor injuries after the accident.
