EdsTowing Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) We use the small trucks quite a bit for recoveries, sometimes because the development roads are typically poor for a big truck...and sometimes just because we can. This oil truck parked on the steep hill to deliver which may have not been the best choice. He got out to check the house and the truck took off sliding down the hill in to a snowbank... I knew the roads for 40 years and they are never good. I actually had the same issue a few years ago with one of my medium duty's. So I decided to take one of the 4wd's just in case... Ran both lines down to the unit and left 3 wraps on the drums. Married the 2 together and winched it up the hill. Once close, I just pulled him up to the house site. Then I left a line on it till he filled the tank on the house. TT stuck in a development he shouldn't of been in @ 3:00 in the morning... Slid the trailer around the turn. Partially loaded box truck stuck at a building site. The more he tried, the more he slid down towards a pick up parked there... 2 part line and slid the tail towards me... Using the heck out of my new spade. It plants the truck well... Empty Uhaul slid down the driveway. The more he tried, the closer to the house he got until he "tapped out"... Winched it to the black top and dropped. Just some daily busy work... Edited January 23, 2022 by EdsTowing 4 Quote
