N3 crash leaves one seriously injured

Two men were injured on Friday afternoon, one seriously, when a tow truck crashed into another truck on the N3 near the Van Buuren off-ramp in Bedfordview.

Fuel had begun to leak from one of the trucks and was spreading across the highway.

 

Medics assessed the patients and found that one man had sustained a serious injury to his leg and was in a serious condition, while a second man had sustained minor injuries.

 

Medics treated the men and provided the seriously injured with pain-relief medications.

 

Once treated, the seriously injured man was airlifted to a nearby hospital by a private medical helicopter, while the second man was transported by ambulance.

 

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
