Two men were injured on Friday afternoon, one seriously, when a tow truck crashed into another truck on the N3 near the Van Buuren off-ramp in Bedfordview. ER24 and other services arrived on scene at 12:45 to find three trucks blocking the highway. Fuel had begun to leak from one of the trucks and was spreading across the highway. Medics assessed the patients and found that one man had sustained a serious injury to his leg and was in a serious condition, while a second man had sustained minor injuries. Medics treated the men and provided the seriously injured with pain-relief medications. Once treated, the seriously injured man was airlifted to a nearby hospital by a private medical helicopter, while the second man was transported by ambulance.
