Suspect can’t stop tow truck, arrest (TN)

Recommended Posts

An angry suspect being arrested for alleged traffic offenses Wednesday night lost his battles with a wrecker driver and police officers, according to a Shelbyville Police Department incident report.

Jose Mateo Garcia Menchu, 39, of Murfreesboro wrecked on Horse Mountain Road. Neither he nor his two unrestrained children, ages 7 and 2, in the back seat were injured, according to police.

Garcia was initially charged with two counts of violating the child restraint law, driving without a license and not using due care while driving. He allegedly stood in front of a tow truck in an attempt to block its path, leading to a charge of disorderly conduct, and picked up a charge of resisting arrest for allegedly struggling against Officers Joseph Cleek and Brad Evans as they applied wrist restraints. He posted $4,000 bond.
