Fully loaded commercial vehicles are considered "light duty" ???

We received a dispatch today for a fully loaded Sprinter van that belongs to PRAXAIR, and they dispatched this as "light duty".  Get real!  (Our dispatcher just got the PO and fax, we didn't know the vehicle type until the fax came over)

When we called back, they were willing to change to medium duty, but their MD rate is still an absolute joke so we told them it would be outside of the contract due to being a loaded commercial vehicle, and they can pay by credit card.  Of course they declined, and said they'll send someone else.  Go ahead, see if someone will tow a loaded up Sprinter for $58.  Good luck with that.

Yeah, that is for sure NOT a light-duty tow!

I have noticed that it really comes down to the dispatcher that you speak to with the clubs. When you have these kinda (or any) problems, get the dispatchers name and extension and then ask to speak to a supervisor to further handle the PO and go from there...

$58 for MD? They could go pound sand, our cheapest MC is 90/hr for MD with a 2/hr min...and that is definitely MD, without being loaded! Let the cheap guys work cheap, I would rather sit and look out the window and make nothing than to go work for an hr or 2 just to go backwards.
