If the tower doesn't have a windshield board at their disposal, at least raise the hood, or better yet, pull from the rear if it's accessible. If the attachment rope or rigging were to break, at least the helper-driver wouldn't become a victim. Here's an example of a like-type recovery of the same type ... wait for it.
