Singers Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett sang a song titled It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere. It’s popular to those who’ve been working hard and need a break. Those in the towing and recovery profession 24/7/365 certainly are hard workers, and when you add in what our lives are like now, we definitely need to take some time off to relax.

 

There comes a time when we need some me-time to recharge our batteries, so to speak. Here are some lyrics to the song:

 

The sun is hot and that old clock is movin’ slow and so am I
Workday passes like molasses in wintertime, but it’s July
I’m gettin’ paid by the hour, and older by the minute
My boss just pushed me over the limit

There have been times when I’ve been at work, looked at the clock and thought the same thing. Time seems to crawl when you just want to get done and leave. And, when you begin packing up to leave for the day, another call or customer comes in. That’s almost a given in our industry.

 

Have a cool one and drink responsibly, read a book, go camping. Take some time to relax. In the towing and recovery profession it doesn’t matter if it’s five o’clock somewhere. Take any time you can get to recharge your spiritual, mental and physical batteries.
