  1. Topic Originally Created in March of 2015: Off hiway logger jumped out of gear at the top of a very steep hill, driver couldn't pull it up on the brakes & actually bailed out of the truck before it went over the bank. We had very little room to set up the trucks for the recovery, once the tractor was seperated from the trailer it all went pretty smooth.
  2. Topic Originally Created in April of 2014: A lot of the accidents of late around here have been due to drivers having a wee sleep! Here are a few examples.

  8. Topic Originally Created in April of 2013: Off Hiway logging unit with 70 ton off logs left the roadway, sadly the driver did not make it. ROBREC said: what size tyres are on that damaged unit they look really big compared to ones on recovery truck aceheavynz said: I'm pretty sure they are a 22.5'' rim, not sure exactly but something like a 13.00 x 22.5, the tyres on the recovery truck are only 19.5's with a low profile tyre. wreckerman05 said: That was a mess-sorry to hear of the drivers death---looks like a good recovery from your service
  9. Has been a while since I posted anything, been a bit slack so will try & post some of the jobs we have done over the years. Will start with this crane, came to an unfortunate end when the ground gave way beneath it, have the video of it going over some where. Job was completed over a couple of days as OSH was involved & needed to see a recovery plan & all certifications for trucks/chains/blocks etc, etc. All went smoothly apart from the weather, it rained most of the day.
  10. Did this a while back, logging company had called out crane also so was pretty strait foward.
  11. Driver fell asleep, took out guard rail & ended up over bank. Truck loaded with general freight, had to get permission from farmer to cut a track down to the truck and clear out the blackberrys for recovery. Needed a helping hand out of paddock
