  1. We are working on bringing these back on a regular basis. While the majority are from the past, this one is much more current. It is amazing to realize how many new drivers will attempt these tows and just because they got away with it think is was all good. When a Tow Operator knows this could have gone bad at anytime. The fear is those lacking proper training will think this is the way it goods. They lean heavily on "If It Fits, It Ships". They are posted in these forum because the make great safety meeting material.

  6. Foolishness, surely a much better solution would have been to transport the loads to the other regions of Europe. At that point another driver could have taken that load and the original driver could have been tested and quarantined there. It's not like this can be totally controlled as we have witnessed for 9 months what has happened business with a high rate of survival from this pandemic. This will be a lesson learned for generations to come, that is if the survive the economic impact.

  10. A Good Old Irish Feller with a Green Coveralls use to drive that beauty back in the day, It wouldn't carry it's own weight or go more than 25 mph hour. But, you know what he made it work in both the hot and cold. Nope No A/C or Heat, not even a Radio. Don't think there is a driver alive today that could survive, that is unless they were driving it in a parade. Even at that they'd need to know how to drive a manual. As for the crane manufacturer, I would not have a clue. could have been someone own design they put together back then. Looks like it could have been a steel girder the type they used on bridges or sky scrappers. Disclaimer: I don't actually know if the man who drove this wrecker was actually Irish or if he even wore Coveralls. I do know that was common for some back in those days.

  18. The List has now been updated. If your name does not appear in the list then add a reply to be included. Thanks and don't forget to take a moment to rank the motor clubs. https://www.towforce.net/topic/11789-2020-top-ten-motor-club-ranking/
  19. There are cameras everywhere these days. There are also guns, what was this driver thinking?
  20. While on a Tow, what have you found down a dead end road. If you're like me you want to spend more time then you have in the candy store. Then there are those treasures that the owner is either reluctant to to show or says go away nothing to see here. LOL I remember several of these over the years that I either got the tour or was told no you can't look there. Either way I have never found a Barn find more anything like the one in this video. I watch half of it, I'll catch the rest later...
  21. John, it is quite a blessing to have made such memories and be apart if one the excellent class of inductees. All Hall of Fame Classes are special, this one just seemed a little more special. I knew more about every individual on stage then I have other classes. I guess that is saying I am getting old. Jamie Davis is just as relatable as every other tower. I like that, and for the most part those in the industry that have appeared in these shows have not lost who they are and where they came from. Jamie is very approachable and takes the time to listen to as many voices as he can. After all the shows will eventually conclude and life goes on. I know the both of you will meet again once we are past this pandemic. Until then take care of yourselves. See ya in 2021... May the TowForce be with you.
  22. No this isn't me... I've got a few years to go still and then I won't truly retire. But it is good to see those that made it to retirement. Not sure what if anything the AAA Truck in the background has to do with the retirement. There were not any details, just this image.
  23. These replies are good sound advise as the claws/pivot arms may not take the stress. Once the integrity of those arms are stressed they bend. At that point you will need to replace one or both as they cannot be straightened or welded. To replace just one is at least $250 or $300. That only would cover the cost of the rent on a proper skid loader. If you do not go that route then a large strap will be far better then forks. This was an interesting recovery of a 1966 Shelby. https://www.towforce.net/topic/8746-found-1966-shelby-mustang-gt350h-sunk-in-ohio-backyard-40-years/
  24. Higher Resolution Images Require More Bandwidth. Lowering the bandwidth reduces the image quality. Some venues do this automatically, that's something we need to look into in regards to the message board. Sorry for the problem, I linked the images from the website by copying a pasting them into the post.
