ESC got a reaction from TowZone in Recover This -
This one is in the water..... assuming it at least has liability coverage on it, it would be a pretty easy one to get paid on.   Personally, I would call in a friend with a rotator and have them set it on my bed.  I would also make sure to have some absorbent pads and booms ready to absorb any fluids out of the water.  Lots of pictures.

ESC got a reaction from TowZone in Eagle Service Center’s new 2019 Hino 258ALP Jerrdan Flatbed
A few months ago we ordered another new truck from Alan at Nussbaum Equipment. We ordered the truck with almost every option available.

After patiently waiting a few months, our 2019 Hino was picked up from Nussbaum Equipment in Columbia Pa on Monday and it headed straight up 222 north to Leesport to its first job. Paul Jr towed a Dodge pickup back to a repair shop in Elverson.

On Tuesday, Dan Nunemaker from DN Designs took care of the paintwork and lettering.

This morning most of the chains, straps and equipment was added. We have some additional toolboxes coming in for the truck as well in the next few weeks.

Good thought. It was a 5 mile ride back to our shop on back roads not over 45 mph. To be honest i never even considered that being an issue. But I could see how it could cause issues, especially at highway speeds or a long trip.

ESC got a reaction from pewagUSA in Tire Chains- Its that time of year again
As much as I don't want to admit it.... winter is coming.  I was just checking out our supplies for the winter and checked through our tire chains.  Years back, we got blindsided by an ice storm early in the morning and we managed to get our 4x4 wrecker stuck before we could get out to a police call.  That week I ordered up a few sets of tire chains.  At the time, I didn't know much about them, just didn't want to have any issues missing a good job.  That winter we had a lot of ice, and we chewed up a few sets of chains.  That next year I did my homework on chains and found Pewag.  It turns out some of our local municipalities had been using them on dump trucks and all.  They were a lot more expensive than what I had used the previous year, but I heard good things, so I gave them a try.  They were much faster and easier to put on.  And they lasted a lot longer than the regular ones.  Since than, I have added multiple sets of Pewag chains and got rid of all of the old styles.  I just ordered 3 more pair for this year.  I just thought I would give you guys a heads up on what works.   They are awesome!!

On our 4x4 trucks I have a set of Pewag singles for the rear which I install on the outer dual only and it works great.  I also keep a set for the front for those really icy days, or the nasty driveway etc.   When I use them, I bill a minimum of $175 to roll the truck.... 1 job pays for the pair.  Our 2 wheel drive trucks I have a pair of singles for the outer rear dual.  I highly recommend having a pair or two around, as when it gets icy, they are hard to get a hold of quickly.  Now is the time to order them.

ESC got a reaction from mushspeed in Thank you to BA Products for helping us out!!
I wanted to thank BA Products for their help! We have been using their products for years. We recently had a 100’ 3/8” synthetic extension that had a knot in it. Apparently we missed the knot and used it on a recovery so it was pulled tight. One of our operators attended the BA factory tour on Friday before the tow show in Baltimore. Fritz took him around on a tour and when he heard about our problem with the extension he told us to ship it down for them to repair. Today we received our repaired extension back with a note that said no charge.

I was half expecting them to call and tell us the rope would need replaced or something rather than fixing it. I was really happy with their service and wanted to let others know.

Guy buys this Jeep 2 weeks prior...700 mi on it...then drives 60 mph+ in a 25 mph community zone. Fails to negotiate the curve and tumbles through 4 different properties....

Cops found the guy 1/2 mile away drunk sitting in the middle of the road in his underwear.... Now THAT"S a party... LoL

Made junk of his new truck...

It was @  2am in the rain so Eddie grabbed the Jeep and we went back on a Sunday am to do a complete clean up.

2 of the home owners that we talked to were very pleased that we came back and cleaned up all the parts, trees & landscaping.

Thanks, matching funds were suppose to end November 15. But the Supporter has extended to offer an additional week. I think we may just make goal by the end of November. Have not had time to get the broken mac on a monitor yet. After Baltimore I will get on that task. Hope to see several of you there.

ESC got a reaction from Louwo in Empty tractor trailer stuck in the mud
Our crew just got wrapped up winching a tractor trailer out of the mud on Rutgers Drive in Exton. We got the call just before 6:00 pm when we were closing up the shop so Paul Jr and Bob jumped in our 2015 Dodge wrecker and Bill in the 2011. We arrived on scene within 10 minutes and found that the driver missed the turn into the Wawa and attempted to turn around in the grass. The trailer was empty and the total estimated weight was approximately 30,000 lbs. We ran a 4 part line from Bills truck to the pintle hitch on the back of the tractor. We kept the other wrecker at the rear of the trailer in case we needed a bit of added pulling power. Within a few minutes we had the tractor back on the roadway using only one small Dodge 5500 wrecker. Our crew escorted the truck to the nearest intersection and assisted in getting him turned around to get back to the Wawa.

You did a fine job...I have no problems with it. I carry a rubber mat in my 650 for laying under vehicles pulling driveshafts. I also use it on the deck to set pieces like this if needed. I use it all the time when I take the shoes off the wheel lift to use forks.

So now if you want some constructive criticism...(and maybe you don't?)...the only problem was dropping it in the customer's driveway. A late model vehicle like that w/ full coverage...I would make every effort to take that to my shop and put it through insurance. That car has maybe 5 grand in damage and it will certainly go through insurance for repairs. Sell the job! Tell them it can go to whatever body shop they like in the morning. Do whatever you can make the decision easy for them. Take them home, get them a rental...whatever you can do. Just add any time to the invoice. I have set up limo or Car service for customers trying to get home to a distant location. You could double the value in that job over taking it home. Just an observance...if it was possible.
