I am looking at a older (much) wheel lift wrecker made by jerr dan, it has a auto matic wheel lift grid. best desribed as wedges that hydraulically move under the tire when closed, thus tire sits atop grid/wedge. does anyone know the name of this lift and or possibly the model #?

Does anyone have a cure for the failure prone Jerr-Dan toolbox latches. We have 4 of their roll backs with 4 toolboxes on each truck and I am very tired of replacing these poorly designed latches. Besides not lasting they are somewhat pricey. Other than that the beds have held up well.

We have a 25 ton unit and the batteries in the remote come loose and lose connection all the time. Has anyone dealt with this and have an easy fix for it. Super annoying to have to take the back off or tap the remote all the time.

We have two MPL40 wreckers that we had the factory trailer ball mounts for. Last week I got to a trailer impound for the police and found it was a pintle hitch. I had to call out one of our flatbeds with a pintle to tow it. Today we bought the 2” receiver and had them welded on. They are getting sand blasted and powder coated next. I also got a receiver for a pintle and a tri ball so we can tow anything now. Something else we did long ago was have our local trailer shop make up a plug in wiring harness. It plugs into the 4 pin round on be truck and on the other end has the large trailer plug then they have us all the adapters so we can just plug our lights rig…

Im not very impressed with the wheel lift ratchet straps that came with my MPL40. I think the hooks need to be longer for more secure bite in there anchoring holes. Anyone have some ideas for me here. If there was anyplace to look at others near me i would. Looking at them on line isnt giving me enough to know if any do have longer hooks or not and none of them have a spec sheet with any of these areas details. Any way maybe some of you have a brand or part number i might try.

We were working with Jerr-Dan on some new equipment and they debuted their new Self Loader T Head for the carriers at the show this past weekend... I like the design. It's simplistic, no chains or gadget mechanisms to operate, has wear pads which are serviceable on all areas of concern and can be totally refurbished inside of a couple hours. The arms are the same left to right so stocking one for a company that does big volume is no big deal. No exposed hydraulic lines and it's very thin in comparison to all other T Heads on the market, including theirs.

I love running these old trucks but man, this one hurts!! 1996 International 4700 with a Jerr dan HPL60 My main cylinder on the wheel lift started puking oil. No problem, get it rebuilt.........not so fast. I think they built the truck around the front pin on that cylinder, I cannot get it to budge. Ok, talk to my hydraulic guy and we can cheat and pull the cylinder apart from under the truck..............wait, not so fast. To add insult to injury, they used a spiral ring as the retainer for the end cap, they could not use an easy screw off type. Naturally, it is all corroded and I had to use the torches to cut it out. Two days on it, off and on and I w…

I'm buying this truck and the previous owner says its a jerr-dan bed but there are no tags or identifying marks of any kind. The bed is 19 ft long. Controls on both sides. The wheel lift goes up and down independent from the bed but it is lifted but raising up the stabilizer under the back of the truck. I have never seen this before. Can anyone identify this bed?

I also posted this in the questions section but thought it would be better here, thanks I was out tonight and noticed the locking pins on my pivot points for the wheel scoops were not engaged down in the wheel grid after I lifted the vehicle. It seems like there should be shims on the top side of the pivot pin to take up the play so the locking pins will engage. Everything was tight, the scoops stayed in place and it traveled well with no issues. I don't see the reason for the pins if they don't engage. The Vulcan I used to have had pins that dropped in once you installed the scoops. I looked at the parts breakdown for the wheel grid and it doesn't show s…
