I’ve got a new International CV all GM drive train Duramax/ Allison. The factory electric PTO switch works intermittently brake on cruise off, has anyone ever hardwired a switch under the dash to turn it on and off by passing all the safety stuff? Help: I’ve had it to the dealer three times and of course it works every time. The truck only have 9000 miles on it.

I have a 2021 international 4300 series, has little over 5000 miles. Since day one this truck has had a annoying rotation sound in sixth gear. If you are driving down road and let off fuel it goes away, or if shifted in 5th gear it goes away. It does it between 60 and 70 miles an hour the most. Dealership told me it was front tires, have put new set on and no differnce. Took to another dealership, they can hear noise but dont know what it is, and dont think it will cause any major problems. Problem is , it is very annoying. Anyone have any ideas what this could be.

I have a 2000 International 4700 with DT466E. I didn't use it for about five years. U needed to use it again, so I replaced new batteries, drained fuel tank refilled pluss new fuel filters with new fuel, changed the oil and filters, greased it fully all around. My problem is it takes almost a full can if starting fluid to start it and keep it running. After about 10 minutes it will idle on its own. Anyone got ideas? Bear in mind I am NOT a mechanic, but can do some shade tree stuff.

In October, International Truck introduced a new configuration for its all-wheel drive International® HV® Series featuring a high visibility hood and set-back axle that allows for improved visibility and maneuverability. “We received customer feedback requesting improved visibility and maneuverability with vocational fleets,” said Mark Stasell, vice president, Vocational Truck Business, Navistar. “So we immediately started working on plans to make it a reality. The HV Series is a direct result of those discussions and of listening to our customers.” The high visibility hood and set-back axle are important for the vocational industry, especially for utility companies wor…

Howdy All I have a 2007 4300 with a Allison auto trans giving me issues. When I first put it reverse she seems to be slipping. I select drive and same thing. Put it back in reverse and works fine but still slipping in drive. When first selecting drive, I get a hard shaking on the driveshaft near the E brake drum. I’ve checked fluid levels, wiring to the TCM & fuse at battery. Seems fine. I did find a little bit of trans fluid inside the main transmission connector at the transmission. Could this be my issue? any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

New to me 2015 IHI Durastar with a 6.7 Cummins/Allison 2500RDS, air brakes with 15,000 original miles. I bought this truck a couple weeks ago from Missouri, had an International Dealership perform a buyers inspection for me prior to purchase, they said all was like new. Truck was shipped on a semi trailer to me here in Washington. On maiden trip I noticed air compressor was a bit noisy but not alarming, noise is like drumsticks rattling on engine block when engaged at idle, noise goes away when compressor disengages/120psi. When driving the noise returns on acceleration, same volume & noise as when compressor is building air but all the time wh…

If you run a fleet, you might have something like International’s new CV, a Class 4 and 5 truck that’s at the light end of the medium-duty market. If so, it’s probably a Ford F-450 or -550, which dominates that segment, or maybe a 4500 or 5500 from Ram, which has become an aggressive competitor, according to people in the business. If you also run heavier Internationals, you might prefer to simplify things by buying your smaller vehicles from the same builder and dealer. So you might be curious about the CV (for commercial vehicle), which fills the void left when the Navistar dropped its TerraStar several years ago. Click to read the entire story

I have a 2003 International 4300 with a Allison that won't release the shifter. If you unplug the brake switch on the pedal you can get it in gear, and for now we removed the side cover and we are just manually releasing the shifter. We replaced the Shift interlock solenoid and it worked for a short time then quit working again. Thanks for your time and help.

12-17-17: ALLTOW Wrote, Hello Guys and thanks for your help in the past. I have a 2004 International 4300 with a dt466e. It has a chevron bed and has a manual transmission. 180k miles. I have had my truck for about 6 months. Wednesday was the first really cold day where I am. I went outside to start my truck and went back inside to let it warm up. I came out about 10 min later to hear it idling high on its own. It was idling at about 1700 RPM , but it sounded like it was trying to push it harder than that. I tapped the clutch and it went back down to its regular idle. Later that day I was sitting in the truck at idling and I saw it start to do it again. …
