Fleet and commercial customers can now manage larger upfits, carry more equipment and tow heavier loads with the new Ford F-600 than they can with any other Super Duty chassis cab its size. New for 2021, customers also get the added capability of standard power takeoff provision on both the class-exclusive gasoline and available diesel powertrains. Slotted between F-550 Super Duty and F-650 Pro Loader medium-duty truck, F-600 has the familiar size, interior and controls of an F-550, with a step-up height only 3 millimeters higher. F-600 uses higher-capacity wheels and tires, upgraded driveshaft mounts, an upgraded rear axle, more robust brake rotor materials a…

Who has them? How are they doing? They look like they'd be very reliable, and have more hrspwrs and torque that a 6.8L. Anyone have any real life experience with a 550 or 650?

Subject in particular is a 2018 F450 regular cab, no sunroof (since those are often a source of leaks) - and it's not the notorious cab light leak either. This is soaking wet at the headliner edges from about mid-door towards the back and all across the back window. I've seen far too many of this body style (2017-up) Ford trucks with stained, wet headliners, so far I haven't found a Ford TSB that addresses it, but there's so many roof leak sources it has been tough searching the web for helpful info to this specific issue. There's other sources blamed like A/C drains, cab lights, 3rd brake light, sunroof, etc. but I'm fairly sure these are going to be the ro…

I’m working on a F-650 that’s been sitting for 2 years and I’ve replaced the compressor, drier, h/l switch and orfice tube. I cannot get power to the control switch nor high/low switch. Checked fuse and relay which appears good. Should I have 12v at the ac control switch in the dash? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My old but good working 1995 F800 rollback is on the side lines due to rusty fuel tank. Haven't had any luck in finding a new one, since it is a 1995 model...so any ideas on where I can locate one or any ideas on repairing the old unit? Thanks!

For any who have a 6.7L I came across somethimg that is common. The vaccume pump bolts come loose. At first I assumed it was the front crank seal but after aome reading and asking around I came to the conclusion that it was the vaccume coming loose. Half day job to get to it and install a new gasket as well. There is so little room and so much stuff to work around in there. Overall still like this new motor at 90k

Hi, I have another one for ya about the '11 F650 which I operate. Pertinent back-info: I am the operator, not the mechanic, ours is stumped so here I am. Ford dealership will not tend to this vehicle, due to a post modification. Purchased in 2015, dropped in a Cummings 6.7, and deleted the DEF (exempt in this state)(2011 series DEF system is a known failure). All was fine until '18 when a Dodge Dakota wiped out the front end, as deep as the cooling fan. Boss went for collision repair, as it was deemed not a total. The problem now (which the collision shop just says "don't know"), we …

Hi, I really like the exhaust brake feature on this '11 with Cummings/Allison, what I don't like at all about it is the transmission downshift that coincides with it. Has anyone ever heard tell of negating the automatic downshift but keeping the exhaust retard aspect? Thanks, Tumbleweed

I bought a used F650 a few years ago. 2008, Cummins 6.7/Allison auto, pre DEF. This was a real upgrade from my 06 F650 with a 5.9 Cummins. The 6.7 was stellar! More power, the throttle peddle was actually more than an on/off switch, could actually merge with traffic onto the highway, I was happy ... then I had what appeared to be issues with the turbo variable vane system sticking. Common issue, I know. Poor performance, always seemed to be "out of breath", no power going uphill, poor throttle response, back to the 5.9 feel. Replaced the turbo system, could hear the turbo running correctly again, but ever since this happened, nothing has brought back the original performa…

How are the new Ford F650s holding up as carriers. Anybody have any experience with the 6.7 or 6.8 versions? Hows the frame and suspension holding up? The DEF systems staying reliable?

The oil cooler is engineered to provide increased cooling capability for trucks that experience heavy tow or heavy load conditions. Bullet Proof Diesel has released a new heavy duty oil cooler for the Ford 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine - an industry first. Immediately available, the BulletProof 6.7L Power Stroke Oil Cooler has been engineered to provide increased cooling capability for trucks that experience heavy tow or heavy load conditions. Bullet Proof Diesel released oil cooling systems for earlier Power Stroke variants, the 6.0L and 6.4L. These systems corrected inherent pattern failures in the designs of the stock oil co…

OK, for those who have the newer Fords. I like having the overhead switch panel, it is taking some time to get use too. For so many years the panel was either on the floor or the dash. Always hated the floor mount, dash was a little better. My issue is the dome lights are in the front now. The rear dome lights had their issues, these have nearly the truck cab, but not the right direction for writing. Has anyone had this issue and have you developed a solution?

Okay my Ford dealership is still scratching their head. So I am hoping someone might have ran across this problem. My 2014 F550 makes a “ting” noise when you start moving both forward and reverse. They have had the truck in 3 times and have everything check or replaced in the entire drive shaft. I guess their next step they want to do is replace the entire driveshaft. Anyone run across this? I would like to have my truck problem free before winter starts it only has 58K. The noise started around 50k.and had a driveshaft replaced about 40K.

I just ran across this article today saying Ford is going to be coming out with a 7.3L gas motor to replace the 6.2L & 6.8L engines. https://www.tfltruck.com/2018/09/rumor-confirmed-a-new-7-3l-gas-v8-is-coming-to-the-ford-super-duty/

https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/06/us/ford-f-150-recall/index.html (CNN)Ford has recalled about 2 million F-150 pickup trucks in North America because a seat belt mechanism has started fires. The company said it was aware of 17 reports in the United States where smoke or fires broke out, and another six cases in Canada, but said it didn't know of any accidents or injuries that resulted. The company blamed the issue on the vehicle's seat belt pretensioners, equipment designed to help secure passengers in the event of an accident or crash by reducing the slack in seat belts. The equipment uses a small device that emits gas, Ford said, which could ignit…

2007 F650, 5.9 Cummins with an Allison trans with about 40,000 original miles. No prior symptoms. Today loaded double to go off island, shut truck off at ferry landing, went to re start to get on ferry & no crank, no signal to fender well mounted starter solenoid. Jumped starter solenoid & truck started but Service Engine light on & the transmission was in limp mode. Trace no crank & trans limp mode to blown 15 amp #30 "Allison Transmission" fuse blown in under dash fuse box, install new fuse, it blows as soon as key is turned to run position. I unplugged all modules (ABS, TCM, etc...) still blows fuse. Followed wiring harness closely from TCM forward to l…

I mentioned this before we crossed over, but just wanted to continue the discussion on the auxiliary separator for the 6.7. I am seeing a good number of 6.7 that are suffering catastrophic fuel system failures as a result of contaminated fuel. If anyone is using an aux separator what are you using, and is it physically removing contaminants?

06-13-2017: 200intow wrote, Anyone have any input on this engine/transmission combo? I'm considering buying a 2017 f650 x-cab with an aluminum jerr-dan primarily because price of chassis as well as warranty. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Jefftow said: Since no one has commented on your 2017 year model question, I'll give you my observations on three 2016 trucks with the "Scorpion" engine if you don't mind. The engine/transmission combo is working great so far with 50-60 miles so far on all three, one is extra cab. The engine idles very quite, not sounding like a typical diesel we're used to. I've already serviced the transmission as pe…
